What the Scottish Beer & Pub Association were looking for
The Scottish Beer & Pub Association is a sister organisation to the British Beer and Pub Association and for many years didn’t have its own online presence and the felt it was about time it got the unique website it deserved.
They were looking for something in keeping with the BBPA but only in appearance, as they also wanted to go that step further and make the site content easy for them to manage and the site also ‘responsive’ to mobile devices so that it looked great whether viewed on a home desktop or on a mobile phone or tablet while on the move.
What we did
Following a thorough process of establishing the client and project needs we got started developing a website they could be proud of. Custom built on the Content Management System WordPress we were careful to ensure that not only would the website look and perform excellently but would also be easy for them to manage.
Features include truly responsive website behaviour, so not only does the appearance and layout adjust according to the viewing device but appropriately sized photos are also served (meaning mobiles wont be forced to spend time and data downloading images big enough to fit a wide screen monitor. The was developed to auto-generate the alternative image sizes where appropriate). The site also features easy to use News functionality, custom sidebar content for different pages and a feed of the latest SBPA Twitter activity to help the site perform as a vibrant, active hub of SBPA activity.
We had great fun putting the site together, and as no strangers of a good pint in the pub (a fair few times in Scotland too I might add) were proud to help give the SBPA a deservedly professional online presence.
We’re glad they were pleased too, or in the words of their Communications & Campaigns Officer Rebekah:
“Many thanks, the site looks great!”
